About Us

Welcome to The Whisky Room! We are whisky hobbyists who enjoy connecting with other whisky lovers to share our whisky knowledge, collection, & adventures.

We enjoy all styles of whisky, but tend to geek out the most on scotch, American single malt, and whiskies from our local distilleries in Washington state.

Over the years, we have built a bit of a whisky collection and have a dedicated room that we use to enjoy that collection and keep it secure (aka “the whisky room”). But ours is not a collection that is intended to gather dust on a shelf or be held as an investment. We have opened or intend to open and enjoy every bottle we have!

We also regularly travel to visit distilleries, whisky bars, and other whisky destinations with a goal of tasting great whisky, meeting cool people, and learning as much as we can. Susan has become adept at making whisky cocktails (a skill honed during Covid lockdowns). And we have taken a number of whisky-related courses and earned several credentials.

Related to all of that, we frequently share photos, tasting notes, and other whisky-related observations on our Instagram account (the.whisky.room). We also have a lesser-used Twitter account (the_whisky_room). This website is an extension of our social media presence which we use to post information and resources that are more suited to the website format than those social platforms.
